For small-sized motors or motors used intermittently, the bearing grease can be replaced by dismantling according to the specific service cycle. For most continuously working motors, given the special nature of the equipment that cannot be interrupted, the bearing grease of the motors they are equipped with must be completed through an uninterrupted oil filling and oil discharge structure. But what problems exist during the operation of the online oil filling and oil discharge structure?

The old oil cannot be completely cleaned during the oil filling process

From the analysis of the oil filling and oil discharge structure design of the bearing system, most of them adopt the method of filling oil from the top and discharging oil from the bottom, one side is the oil inlet side, and the other side is the oil outlet side, that is, the idea of injecting new grease to squeeze out the original grease, but in the actual operation process, the old grease often cannot be discharged or cannot be completely discharged. Although new grease has been discharged from the oil drain hole, there is still old grease accumulated in the oil cavity, resulting in the coexistence of new and old grease, which is not conducive to the actual operation of the bearing; on the other hand, although new grease has been discharged, it cannot prove that the grease has been distributed in place.



High bearing temperature due to re-greasing

According to the actual situation of oil filling and oil draining, although new grease has been injected, the old grease still remains. The actual state is that the oil cavity is filled very full. Especially for the case where the bearing cover cavity is relatively large, the bearing system of the motor will heat up seriously after oil filling, which may lead to other adverse consequences.

In order to ensure the effectiveness of online maintenance of the motor bearing system, the design of the bearing system is crucial, and invalid oil storage space should not be increased. In addition, during the oiling process of the motor, it is necessary to ensure that the motor is in a rotating state so that the newly injected grease can enter all the oil chambers of the bearing, which can maximize the effect of metabolism.

In addition to online inspection and maintenance of motors, equipment manufacturers should conduct comprehensive inspections of motors on a regular basis to ensure the reliability and stability of the motor's operating status.


During the operation of the motor, it is very important to monitor the temperature of the bearing system, because excessive temperature will cause the grease to degrade and fail. This failed grease is an important factor hindering the normal operation of the motor, especially the agglomerated grease, which will seriously hinder the circulation of the grease.
