Analysis on the Causes of Oil Leakage of Micro Speed-regulating Motor

Adjustable speed motors can be developed and produced according to customer needs. They have the characteristics of low noise, stable voltage, smooth driving, no slipping, swinging and so on. Oil leakage will not only cause unnecessary waste, but alsocause great damage to the reducer. Therefore, we should check the reducer regularly because it leaks oil, but we don't know the situation. So, what is the cause of the oil leak? Xinda Motor will take youto have a look.

1. Improper maintenance process. When the equipment is overhauled, if the dirt on the joint surface is not removed, or the sealant is improperly selected, the seal is installed in the opposite direction, and the seal is not replaced in time, it will also cause oil leakage.

2. When the speed regulating motor is working, the friction caused by the meshing of each pair of gears in the box will generate heat. With the increase of the running time of the gearbox, the temperature in the gearbox will rise, the gas will expand, and the volume of the box will  remain constant. If the ventilation cap of the box part is not opened, the heat-expanded air in the box can be discharged freely to keep the pressure balance inside and outside the box, otherwise the lubricating oil will leak along the box dividing surface or other gaps such as axial seals.

3. Too much gas. During the operation of the reducer, the oil pool is agitated violently, and the lubricating oil is splashed everywhere. If the amount of oil added is too large, a large amount of lubricating oil will accumulate on the shaft seal, joint surface, etc., causing leakage.


4. The pressure difference inside and outside the reducer. During the operation of the reducer, due to the influence of the ambient temperature, the frictional heating of the moving pair will increase the temperature of the reducer. If there is no air hole or the air hole is blocked, the pressure inside the machine will gradually increase, the higher the temperature inside the machine, the greater the pressure difference with the outside world, and the lubricating oil will leak from the gap under the action of the pressure difference.

5. The structural design of the  speed regulating motor is unreasonable. The cover plate of the inspection hole is too thin, and it is easy to deform after tightening the bolts, making the surface of the joint uneven and causing oil leakage in the contact gap. In the manufacturing process of the reducer, if the casting is not annealed or processed in time, and the internal stress is not removed , deformation will inevitably occur, resulting in gaps and leakage. There is no oil return tank on the box, and the lubricating oil accumulates in the shaft seal, end cover, joint surface, etc., and leaks from the gap under the action of pressure difference. The design of the axial seal structure is unreasonable. Early reducers mainly used oil grooves and felt ring shaft sealing structures. During assembly, the felt was compressed and deformed, and the surface gap of the joint was sealed. If the contact with the seal is not ideal, the seal will fail in a short time due to the poor compensation performance of the felt. Although there is an oil return hole in the oil groove, it is easy to be blocked, and the oil return effect is difficult to exert.
